Okay folks, March is intestinal month, so I get to talk about one of my favorite subjects, right?  Not really, but it is something that really does need to be taken into consideration when talking about how things get imbalanced in our bodies.  So lets discuss what it is that our intestinal systems actually do, and why it is so important for our elimination systems to work properly.

Your intestines are part of your digestive system that is located between the stomach and the anus.  They are where your food and drink is taken into the rest of your body.  Nutrients and fluids are sent to the rest of your body from the intestines, and waste is sent out through the kidneys and the colon.  Essentially, your intestines, especially your large intestine helps to take out the garbage (waste and toxins.)  The small intestine (small bowel) is about 20 feet long and about 1 inch in diameter; the large intestine (colon or large bowel) is about 5 feet long and about 3 inches in diameter.
